N.I.C.I. DUTCH ISLAMIC CULTURAL INSTITUTE AMSTERDAM

The Dutch Islamic Cultural Institute [N.I.C.I.] is situated on the Mr. Visserplein, between the Moses and Aaron Church and the Portuguese Synagogue. The traffic junction around the Mr. Visserplein has been reduced to a simple design proposal, which allows a good flow of car traffic.
This way space is gained to create a square in addition to a place for a building.
This project could contribute to the discussion about Islam. This this national central place, this platform, could be an informational, educational, cultural, scientific and sociological center. A center for archives, research, debates and official commemorations.
